Job Description
International Flavors & Fragrances' Information Security Team safeguards IFF's information systems and assets by identifying and solving potential and actual cyber security threats and is tasked with protecting corporate networks, systems, computers, software, data, and/or information systems against cyber beaches such as viruses, worms, spyware, malware, intrusion detection, unauthorized access, denial-of-service attacks and data exfiltration.
Information Security Engineer must be well experienced in Cyber & Information Security and able to succeed in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment. The candidate will be immediately joining and contributing to a security program upon hire.
Responsibilities of this position are:
Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing Cyber and Information Security systems, solutions and computer security tools for the organization.
Responsible to creating complex security structures focused on the security design of networked systems, maintaining performance analysis of network security and the installation of security hardware and software
Daily operations and maintenance of IFF's networks and security systems, as well as monitoring and responding to threat detection, potential malicious attacks, access violations, and all required security enforcements.
Protecting organization's endpoints - including computers, mobile devices, networks and data against threats, such as security breaches, computer viruses or attacks by cyber criminals.
Collaborate with Security Operations, Network Operations, IT Engineering and other technical teams in applying and upholding global security standards, delivering innovative security projects, continuously improving and designing to secure architectural standards in support of a standardized secure approach to systems, application, and network development, and to monitor, log, and protect corporate systems from unauthorized access.
Assist with developing secure configuration standards as well as the design, implementation, deployment, and support of various best of breed security technologies consisting of Managed Services, Cloud services, and on-premise solutions.
Develop and execute corrective action plans and remediation plans for the identified risk in order to protect the company's computer systems, networks, and vital information assets and mitigate the risk of exploitation.
Provide expert security consultancy during requirements and design phases of the project development cycle. Ensure information security representation in the change management process
Leverage emerging threat intelligence (IOCs, updated rules, etc.) to identify affected systems and the scope of the attack. Reviews and collects asset data (configs, running processes, etc.) on systems for further investigation. Determines and directs remediation and recovery efforts.
Review vulnerability scans and reviews vulnerability assessment reports and penetration tests.
Review and evaluate compliance to applicable security standards and policies
Prepare comprehensive reports, including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for senior management review and to further security enhancement.
Liaison with security vendors for support and expert advice. Participate in meetings and planning as required
Stay up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, in order to anticipate security breaches.
Required Skills
Experience working with securing highly-available, large-scale distributed networks and applications
Strong experience and understanding in configuring and troubleshooting security infrastructure devices and technologies (Firewalls, SIEM, Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention Systems and logging platforms).
Experience with securing large-scale cloud infrastructure and services
Sound understanding of various network and communication protocols, technologies, and data flows, in addition to their associated risks and vulnerabilities.
Demonstrated understanding of VPNs and remote access
Strong understanding of virtualization and OS principles
Knowledge of encryption techniques and PKI infrastructure
Network routing and virtualization technologies: BGP, GRE, MPLS, IPSEC, etc.
Experience with network analytics tools, scanning and security assessment tools, such as Rapid 7, Nessus, Qualys, Wireshark, NMAP, Kali, MetaSploit, etc.
Ability to conduct deep packet inspection, interpretation, and troubleshooting/experience with HTTP/HTTPS proxies,
An understanding of the software development lifecycle from an Information Security and Risk Management perspective
Intermediate to expert knowledge of endpoint protection systems, anti-virus, anti-spam, and anti-malware
Ability to conduct research into security issues and products, as required.
Experience with creating clear, comprehensive and current information security documentation, security operations run books, security guidelines, policies and procedures
Knowledge about security standards frameworks, such as SOX, NIST, and ISO and CIS.
Required Experience
10+ years of relevant experience in an Information Technology role
5+ years of experience as an IT Security Engineer, maintaining, building and auditing a large-scale security infrastructure
3+ years of experience with secure network design

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
